The challenge
INTA, the International Trademark Association, brings together trademark and intellectual property professionals from around the world. When its flagship meeting comes to a city, firms in the sector host their own receptions to meet international clients and colleagues.
Becerril, Coca & Becerril, a firm specialising in intellectual property, wanted a reception that would stand out among the many held during those days. It needed a venue that said something about Barcelona, room for a large drinks reception and a concept that an international audience would easily remember.
What we did
- Venue. The reception took place at Castell de Montjuïc, a fortress overlooking the city and the port, with a large parade ground and sea views.
- Medieval concept. We built on the character of the castle with period theming, knights welcoming guests and décor that worked with the architecture.
- Brand in the space. We projected the firm's logo onto the courtyard walls, visible from arrival and throughout the evening.
- Themed food. We designed a menu in keeping with the concept, with bars spread around the courtyard for quick service.
- Live music. We booked live musicians playing covers of current hits, a deliberate contrast with the historic setting.
- Logistics. We coordinated access, set-up times and suppliers within the venue's rules.
The result
Becerril, Coca & Becerril marked the opening of INTA with a reception at one of Barcelona's historic viewpoints, built on a clear concept and an elegant brand presence. Its international guests enjoyed an evening connected to the city's history.
Receptions around major congresses and trade shows are one of our regular formats. We explain how we approach them in trade show events. If your firm is organising its own congress or professional meeting, see congress organisation.
