Incentive travel to Barcelona

We design and produce incentive trips to Barcelona that reward sales teams, dealers and clients. Two to five day programmes with hotel, transfers, activities, dinners in venues with character and extensions across Catalonia, coordinated by a local team that stays with the group throughout the trip.

What an incentive trip with us includes

We take care of everything from the moment the group lands until it boards again. You decide how much to delegate.

Programme design

We start from the group profile and the purpose of the reward to propose a programme with pace, surprises and genuine free time.

Hotel and rooms

We select the hotel to match the group's style, negotiate the block and manage the rooming list, upgrades and welcome touches.

Transfers

Airport and station pick-ups, coaches and private vehicles during the programme, with timings adjusted to real traffic.

Activities and tours

Tours with official guides, food, sea, sport and culture, with options for every profile and a plan B for rain.

Dinners with character

Private dinners in museums, modernista buildings, terraces and masias, with Catalan cuisine taking centre stage.

On-site team

Coordinators with the group from start to finish, in several languages, and a phone that answers at any hour.

Why Barcelona for incentive travel?

An incentive works when the destination is already a reward in itself. Barcelona is one for almost any market: it has the sea, Gaudí's architecture, cuisine recognised around the world and a climate that allows outdoor activities for much of the year. And it has something few cities offer at the same time: within an hour by road you are among vineyards, on the mountain of Montserrat or in a cove on the Costa Brava.

Logistics matter to the organiser too. Barcelona El Prat airport has direct flights to the main European markets, North America and Asia, and the hotel stock lets you choose between beach hotels, mansions in the Eixample and hotels with gardens in the upper part of the city.

How do we design an incentive?

  1. We understand the reward. Rewarding top sellers is not the same as building dealer loyalty or thanking clients. We ask who is travelling, where they are coming from, whether they have been to Barcelona before and what they should feel on the way home.
  2. We propose a programme within 24 business hours. Hotel, day structure, activities and dinners, with an itemised estimate.
  3. We fine-tune with you. We change whatever is needed, confirm availability and secure the hotel and venues.
  4. We prepare the trip. Rooming list, transfers, welcome materials, guides, restaurants, allergies and a plan B for every outdoor activity.
  5. We stay with the group. Our coordinators are with the group throughout the programme and solve things as they come up.
  6. We close. Final accounts, photos and a review of what worked best for the next edition.

A three-day programme, as an example

This is an indicative outline for a group of 40 to 120 people. Every real programme is adapted to the group profile, the season and the budget.

Time Day 1: arrival Day 2: Barcelona in depth Day 3: out of the city
Morning Airport pick-up and transfer to the hotel Tour of a Gaudí building with an official guide before the rush Departure for the Penedès or Montserrat
Midday Light lunch and free time Walk through the Born and the Gothic Quarter with a food stop Winery visit with cava tasting and lunch among the vines
Afternoon Gentle activity: boat trip along the coast or bike tour Free time or group activities: cooking, sailing or shopping Return to Barcelona and free time
Evening Welcome cocktail on a terrace with views and dinner at the hotel Private gala dinner in a unique venue Informal farewell dinner or transfer to the airport

Two details make the difference in this kind of programme. First, book cultural visits for first thing in the morning, before the buildings fill up. Second, leave at least one afternoon free: participants want a reward, not a marathon.

Extensions across Catalonia

One of Barcelona's strengths over other destinations is what surrounds it. These are the extensions we propose most often:

Destination Approximate time by road What to do Best for
Penedès 45 minutes to 1 hour Wineries, cava, lunch among the vines Groups that value food and wine
Montserrat 1 hour Monastery, rack railway, walking routes with views Active groups and first visits to Catalonia
Sitges 40 minutes Beach, seafront promenade, dinner by the sea Summer programmes and conventions with an incentive element
Costa Brava 1 h 15 to 1 h 45 Coves, kayaking, medieval villages, Empordà cuisine 4 or 5 day programmes

We also work with masias and rural hotels for groups looking to switch off. The Reverse Tech incentive at Mas Solà combined outdoor activities, yoga, a drone group photo and a night-time queimada. And for leadership teams we organise retreats at a masia in Les Gavarres, in Girona.

Multi-day programmes in the city

Not every incentive needs to move around. In July 2025 we produced the Meliá Members Fest: a five-day programme based at the Gran Meliá Torre Melina, with themed dinners, a stage, a golf day and the participation of chefs Hermanos Torres. A city hotel with gardens can carry a full programme if each day has its own identity.

For dinners, Barcelona offers museums, modernista buildings and viewpoints that few cities can match. We go through them by capacity in gala dinners and unique venues.

Incentives for teams and for clients

A trip for your best sellers and a trip for your best clients can visit the same places and still be two very different programmes. With internal teams, the trip also builds a sense of belonging: group activities, a recognition night and a message from leadership. With clients or dealers, the focus is on hospitality and conversation: more free time, more care with personal touches and moments for your sales team to talk to each guest without hurrying.

What we usually advise

  • Choose your dates carefully. Spring and autumn are ideal, but they coincide with many trade shows. Check the trade show calendar.
  • Allow for the tourist tax. It is charged per person per night and went up in April 2026. We explain it in our tourist tax guide.
  • Ask about allergies and diets before booking restaurants. International groups always have several.
  • Do not fill every hour. An incentive with free time is remembered better than an exhausting one.
  • Think about the final photo. A well-planned group shot is what participants share when they get home.

If you are preparing an incentive for your team, your dealer network or your clients, tell us who is travelling and we will send you a first proposal within 24 business hours.

Frequently asked questions

How many days should an incentive trip to Barcelona last?

Most programmes last three to four days. Three days leave time for the city, a special dinner and an activity outside Barcelona without rushing the group. For groups flying in from other continents we recommend four or five days, with an extension to the Costa Brava or the Penedès.

When is the best time of year for an incentive in Barcelona?

Spring and autumn bring good weather and long days without the heat of high summer. Avoid major trade show weeks, when hotels raise their rates. We go through it month by month in our guide to the best time for events in Barcelona.

What is the difference between an incentive trip and a convention?

At a convention the focus is the work content. On an incentive the trip is the reward: the programme is designed so participants enjoy themselves and feel recognised. Many companies combine both, with a morning of work and the rest of the programme as an incentive. See company conventions.

Can you arrange private visits to Gaudí buildings?

It depends on the building and the date. Some allow visits and dinners outside public opening hours, on their own terms. In 2026, for example, we organised an evening at La Pedrera for Dataforce with a guided tour and private dinner.

Do you work with incentive agencies from other countries?

Yes. Many overseas agencies hire us as their DMC in Barcelona and present the programme to their client under their own brand. We explain how on DMC Barcelona.

How is an incentive budget calculated?

The main cost lines are hotel, lunches and dinners, activities, transfers, guides, coordination and the tourist tax. The cost per person depends mostly on hotel category, season and the number of special dinners. In the proposal we break down every line so you can adjust.
