Why did we create [re] Conventions?
For years we saw the same pattern at many conventions: a hotel ballroom, a string of presentations, a buffet lunch and dinner in the same building. The content could be good, but attendees went home with little more than the slides.
[re] Conventions Experience was created to change that. The idea is simple: if you bring together your team, your clients or your sales network, the time they spend together has to reinforce the message, not just deliver it. That is why we design the whole convention as an experience, from the venue to the last transfer, and produce it turnkey. You can see the product presentation on the website of Marca Condal, a company within the group.
The four modules, explained
Spectacular venues
The venue is part of the message. An innovation convention in a factory, an anniversary in a museum or a kick-off at a masia surrounded by vineyards say different things before anyone steps on stage. For Kave Home's 40th anniversary the plenary took place among the shelving of its own factory in Tordera. We choose venues that make sense for your story and that also work technically.
Post-congress dinners and activities
What happens when the last session ends sets the mood for the next day. We propose themed dinners, food experiences, outdoor activities or private visits that give the group something to share. At Edenred's E-Day in Sitges working sessions alternated with outdoor team activities, dinner and dancing at the same venue.
Turnkey production
A single team takes care of everything: venue, AV, set design, catering, accommodation, transfers, staffing and security. You deal with one contact and receive an itemised budget. It is the part nobody sees and the part that makes everything else work.
Purposeful networking
Putting 200 people in the same room does not guarantee they will talk to each other. We design table formats, rotations, mixed-group activities and informal moments so that the people who should meet do: sales staff from different countries, clients with similar profiles or teams who work together without ever having met.
[re] Conventions versus a standard convention
| Aspect | Standard convention | [re] Conventions Experience |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | A room with enough capacity | The objective and what attendees should feel |
| Venue | Hotel ballroom | A venue chosen for its connection with the message |
| Programme | Back-to-back presentations | Content alternated with experiences and meaningful breaks |
| After the sessions | Dinner at the same hotel | Post-congress dinners and activities designed for the group |
| Networking | Coffee breaks | Formats designed to create connections |
| Production | Several suppliers coordinated by the client | Turnkey with a single point of contact |
What a two-day [re] Conventions could look like
This outline is only an example for a sales team of 150 to 300 people. Every real programme is designed from scratch based on the brief.
| Time | Day 1 | Day 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Morning | Arrival and registration at a venue with character; opening plenary with the year's message | Hands-on team sessions in workshop format |
| Midday | Standing lunch designed to mix countries and departments | Closing lunch with shared conclusions |
| Afternoon | Breakouts and a group activity linked to the convention theme | Departure or free time in the city |
| Evening | Themed dinner away from the main venue, with recognition awards and entertainment |
What changes compared with a standard convention is not the number of things, but that every moment has a purpose and connects with the next. The afternoon activity sets up the dinner conversation; the dinner reinforces the plenary message; the second-day workshop turns that message into concrete commitments.
