What does a DMC in Barcelona do?
When a company in London, Zurich or New York decides to bring its team to Barcelona, it faces the same thing every time: it needs a hotel, transfers, a meeting room, dinners, activities and someone on the ground who speaks its language and answers when something changes. Coordinating all of that remotely, with suppliers it does not know, is costly in time and risky.
That is what a DMC is for. We are the local team that books, coordinates and supervises the services in Barcelona, and the single point of contact for whoever is organising from abroad. According to Turisme de Barcelona's 2025 meetings report, more than half of the city's corporate meetings were organised by companies from outside Spain. A large part of our work is exactly that.
Who we work with
- International companies organising their convention, incentive or meeting in Barcelona without an agency in their own country.
- Overseas event and incentive agencies that need a local partner to deliver their client's programme.
- Associations and congress organisers looking for on-the-ground support with housing, social programme and transfers.
- Hotel groups and brands hosting their own guests in the city, such as Meliá with its Hosted Buyers during IBTM.
How we work with overseas agencies
If you are an agency from another country, you know the client is yours and our role is to make you look good. This is how we work:
- Agency brief. You send us the group profile, dates, indicative budget and what your client expects.
- Proposal within 24 business hours. Programme, hotel and venue options, and itemised net rates so you can apply your margin.
- White label, if you need it. We prepare the document without our branding so you can present it as your own. Our on-site staff introduce themselves as part of your team.
- Site inspection. If you or your client want to come over, we organise a one or two-day visit to hotels and venues.
- Contracting and production. We sign with local suppliers, manage payments and keep you up to date with a shared tracking document.
- Delivery. Coordinators with the group, an operations lead available throughout the programme and direct communication with you.
- Close. Clear final accounts, photos for your client and an incident report, if there were any.
We do not contact your client unless you ask us to.

Languages and international groups
We work with groups from Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia, and adapt the programme to each market: meal times, type of dinner, level of formality and expectations around free time. A British group and a German group can have the same agenda on paper and need two different programmes.
The team works in English and Spanish, and we coordinate guides, hosts and interpreters in other languages depending on the group. This website is also available in Spanish, French, German and Chinese so your participants can find the information in their own language.
Programmes we have produced as the local team
- Meliá Members Fest 2025. A five-day programme based at the Gran Meliá Torre Melina, with themed dinners, golf and fine dining.
- WSEI Congress 2024. Three days of international medical congress with sessions at Clínica Planas and dinners at Llotja de Mar and the Drassanes Reials.
- Dataforce at La Pedrera. A private evening at Casa Milà with a theatrical guided tour, live music and dinner.
What we need in the brief
To send you a useful proposal within 24 business hours, the essentials are enough. The more complete the brief, the more accurate the first response:
- Dates or a range of possible dates, and whether there is flexibility.
- Number of participants and whether they travel with partners.
- Where the group comes from and the working language.
- Type of programme: incentive, convention, congress, meeting or a combination.
- Hotel category and whether you prefer the beach, the centre or a quiet area.
- Key moments that cannot be missed: a gala dinner, a particular visit, a working session.
- Indicative budget per person or in total, even if only a range.
- Whether we are working for you as an agency or directly for the end client.
Site inspections
For large programmes or clients who do not know the city, we recommend a site inspection before signing. We organise it over one or two days, with the shortlisted hotels and venues, lunch at one of the proposed restaurants and time to review the programme in person. If the agency comes with its client, we set up the visit so the agency leads the conversation.
Why a local DMC rather than a remote agency
- We know the venues from the inside. We know where catering comes in, how long a build takes and what rules each museum has.
- We negotiate in the local market. Suppliers know us and respond quickly.
- We are there when something changes. A delayed flight, unexpected rain or a speaker changing slots are solved on the spot.
- One invoice. Instead of paying twenty suppliers in another country, you have a single contract.
If you are a company or an agency preparing a programme in Barcelona, send us the brief. We will reply with a proposal within 24 business hours.
