Why the Costa Brava for a company convention?
The Costa Brava packs three landscapes into a small area: coves and fishing villages, the medieval inland Empordà and a city with an old town like Girona. For a convention, that means each day can have its own setting without long transfers, and the group goes home feeling it has been on a proper trip.
What makes it practical is the venue. We suggest Camiral, in Caldes de Malavella, because it brings together on one estate everything a convention needs: large meeting rooms, accommodation for the whole group, sport, wellness and dining, with Girona airport 6 km away and Barcelona an hour away. What you see above is an outline programme: we adjust it to your team, your message and the time of year.
Camiral: what it offers a convention
Camiral, formerly known as PGA Catalunya, is a golf resort with two courses, the Stadium Course and the Tour Course, and will host the 2031 Ryder Cup. There are two hotels on the estate: Hotel Camiral, a five-star member of The Leading Hotels of the World, and Lavida Hotel, a 50-room four-star with a younger feel.
For the content, La Selva Suite offers 372 m² and holds up to 450 people theatre-style or 300 for banquets, and can be split into two soundproofed rooms. The 237 m² Girona Suite has large windows over the Tour Course and divides into three rooms, Maresme, Empordà and Osona, ideal for simultaneous workshops. The wellness centre, with indoor and outdoor thermal baths, yoga and Pilates, rounds off the downtime.
How is the programme structured?
Day one stays at the resort: plenary and workshops in the morning, golf or wellness in the afternoon and a relaxed dinner. That way the group settles in without rushing and arrives rested for the big day.
Day two is about the sea. Some 40-45 minutes away are Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc, two of the most photogenic villages on the coast. We split the group into kayaking parties with instructors or walkers on the camí de ronda, the path that runs along the Costa Brava between coves, and we have lunch facing the sea. On the way back, a stop in Pals or Peratallada shows off the medieval Empordà. In the evening, a guided walk through Girona's Barri Vell and the convention dinner in the old town.
Day three closes with a commitments plenary and a DO Empordà winery for a farewell lunch among the vines. If anyone is flying from Girona, the airport is a few minutes from the resort.

At the resort, for logistics |
With large groups, dinner in Girona means splitting the group or finding a large venue, so we consider keeping the gala at the resort and doing Girona as a walk with tapas.
Logistics and transfers
Camiral quotes 50 to 60 minutes by car from Barcelona and about 70 from El Prat; by coach with a group we allow an hour and a quarter. For international groups, Girona-Costa Brava airport, 6 km away, is a convenient alternative to El Prat. From the resort, Girona is about 20 minutes away, the Baix Empordà coast 40-45 and Figueres about 45.
Dalí is a frequent request. The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres works as an alternative to the day 3 winery for small groups. Cadaqués and Portlligat are more than an hour away on a winding road: we only suggest them if we add a night to the programme.
What changes with the season
From May to October the sea is the star of day two. In spring and autumn the temperature is good for golf and walking, the coast is quieter and conditions are better for groups. In winter we replace kayaking with the coastal path or a day in Girona, and golf and the wellness centre take on a bigger role.
Budget: what it depends on
The main cost lines are accommodation, meeting rooms and technical production, catering, activities, transfers, guides and coordination. In this programme the biggest factors are the hotel category chosen on the estate, the use of golf and wellness, and the number of outings beyond the resort. We break it all down in the proposal, and our guide how much a convention costs explains each factor.
What we have done in Girona
The province of Girona is an area we know well. We organised the Reverse Tech incentive at Hotel Mas Solà, in Santa Coloma de Farners, with outdoor activities, yoga and a night-time queimada; we produced Provital's Rain Forest in Arbúcies, in the Montseny; and we organised a leadership meeting at a masia in Les Gavarres.
