What kind of events does Fira Gran Via suit?
Gran Via is the venue for Barcelona's major international trade shows: Mobile World Congress, ISE and other leading events. For a company it has two uses. The first is as the venue for your own trade shows and exhibitions or large-scale congresses that need a lot of exhibition space. The second, more common in our work, is as the centre of gravity of a trade show week: your brand exhibits inside and needs, outside the venue, a client dinner, a party, a distributor meeting or a product launch.
Spaces and capacities
Fira lists 240,000 gross m² of exhibition space across eight halls connected by a walkway, and a new 60,000 m² building on two floors under construction. The Convention Centre, in Hall 8, is a fully modular space with capacity for 3,000 to 12,000 seats. The site has 4,580 parking spaces, 45 restaurants and 26,000 solar panels on the roof. Getting there
It is at Avinguda Joan Carles I, 64, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, between the airport and the city centre. It is served by metro L9 Sud (Fira and Europa | Fira), which also connects with the airport, and by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat at Europa | Fira. There are bus stops, a taxi rank and a heliport.
Production tips
- Book outside the venue a year ahead. During MWC or ISE weeks, hotels, restaurants and unique venues are booked well in advance. Check the 2027 trade show calendar.
- Plan transfers for rush hour. When the show closes, the metro, taxis and roads are packed. For a client event, schedule coaches with staggered departure times.
- Choose the evening area carefully. Montjuïc, Port Vell or the city centre work for dinners and parties without straying too far from the venue or the Gran Via hotels.
- Keep meetings away from the noise. For client meetings during the show, a nearby hotel meeting room is calmer than a room inside the venue.
What works well nearby
The Hyatt Regency Barcelona Tower is a few minutes away and has a ballroom for 1,800 people. Fira de Montjuïc and the InterContinental Barcelona are on the same Gran Via axis. Compare venues on our convention centres page.
