When to book your MWC event
MWC is the busiest week of the year for Barcelona hotels. Rates go up and cancellation terms get stricter. This is the timeline we recommend.

MWC: the week of the senior executive
MWC Barcelona is the main annual gathering of the mobile and connectivity industry, and increasingly of AI as well. In 2026 it drew around 105,000 attendees from 207 countries and territories. What sets it apart for a corporate event is the profile: according to the GSMA, 45% of attendees were director level or above and 17% were C-suite. Its economic impact on Catalonia is estimated at €588 million.
That changes how events need to be designed. Executives have diaries full of meetings at the exhibition centre and dozens of invitations every night. An event during MWC has to be easy to fit in, close to where they are and give them a clear reason to come.
Formats that work
- Executive breakfasts before the halls open, lasting 45 to 75 minutes, near Gran Via.
- Private dinners for 12 to 60 guests, with the seating plan worked out with your sales team.
- VIP experiences for small groups: an after-hours visit to a Gaudí building, a tasting or a dinner with a chef.
- Receptions and partner parties, if you have a channel or developer community that wants to get together.
What works worst is a big party with no reason of its own, on the same night as the industry's major receptions. Before setting a date we check which other events clash and choose the slot that best suits your audience.
Hotel and venue: the hard part
MWC is the busiest week of the year for Barcelona hotels. Higher rates, minimum stays and stricter cancellation terms. Coaches, chauffeur-driven cars, hosts and technicians are also in short supply. That is why we recommend securing the venue and room block about 12 months ahead, right after the previous edition.
If you are late, there are still options: restaurants available for private hire, hotel meeting rooms and smaller venues. We work with real availability and tell you what can be done in the time you have.
Our experience with technology brands
Since 2022 we have produced Logitech and Microsoft's events every year during ISE, the other major technology show at Fira Gran Via. We have run partner parties at Llotja de Mar, a partner meeting at Porta Fira, VIP events for Yealink and Microsoft and the Gurobi Live conference.
